Daniela Tommasini

Daniela Tommasini, Professor, PhD Geography, University of Grenoble 1 (France). She has been conducting research in the whole Arctic, and primarily in Greenland, since 1994. Her research topics are tourism, regional and local development, sustainable development, resilience and adaptation to a changing environment. She has studied tourism as an adaptation strategy, part of alternative economic possibilities in local resources development. During her research on tourism, she took into account politics and policies, international relations, environmental and indigenous issues, as well as the effects of climate change on communities and territories. As a researcher, Daniela Tommasini is very familiar with community-based consultation and collaboration; traditional knowledge interviews; qualitative analysis; and writing reports. Besides writing and publishing about her research, she has organised academic conference sessions and was a guest journal editor.
