The Cooperative Doctoral Student Training (CDST) program between the Arctic Studies Center (ASC) at Liaocheng University and the Department of Anthropology (ANTH) within the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) at University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) was started in the fall of 2019. Candidates are currently attending doctorate courses at University of Alaska Fairbanks.
ASC is dedicated to training future scholars in the fields of Arctic Studies. We hope to keep a good scholar reserve for China’s future Artic Studies by international student exchange programs, scholarly exchanges and joint education of doctorate candidates.
The CDST program is currently recruiting Chinese and international students to apply for the UAF PhD Anthropology program with an emphasis in Arctic and/or Chinese Anthropology.
We recruit candidates for fall semester every year. Requirements for candidates:
1. Master degree has to be in the field of archeology or anthropology
2. IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 79 or above.
3. Students who have interests in polar archeology or anthropology.
4. Have to graduate within 6 years.
The first three years will be coursework at UAF campus and the last three years will be spent at Liaocheng University campus. Scholarship is provided throughout the study and tuition is exempted.
