Marta Lorenzon

Marta Lorenzon: Part-time Professor at the Arctic Studies Center of Liaocheng University, Currently Associate Professor in the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of Arts, University of Helsinki, Finland; Research Fellow at the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires; and Principal Investigator of the TYRAS Project. She has long been focused on interdisciplinary research on ancient earthen architecture, specializing in the use of geoarchaeological, architectural archaeological and experimental archaeological methods to deeply explore the architectural technologies, environmental adaptation and cultural identity of ancient societies in the Mediterranean, the Near East and the Arctic regions. Her research covers several important archaeological contexts, including Bronze Age Crete, Iron Age Levant and Hellenistic Armenia. Professor Lorenzon has fruitful academic achievements and has presided over several important research projects, including the "Earth Programme" of the Academy of Finland. She has published numerous papers in international authoritative journals such as the Journal of Archaeological Science and Antiquity, and serves as an editorial board member of journals such as Community Archaeology and Heritage.
