First Arctic Studies workshop

On the morning of April 27, 2018, the first Arctic Studies Workshop was held in the conference room of the Pacific Islands Research Center. Chaired by Professor Qu Feng, Director of the Arctic Studies Center, Professor Chen Dezheng, Dean of the School of History, Culture and Tourism, Professor Li Zenghong, Vice Dean, and some researchers and graduate students participated in this workshop. Philip Demgenski, a postdoctoral researcher in anthropology at the French Higher School of Social Sciences, was invited to present a report entitled "From Material to Intangible Cultural Heritage: Between China and the World." Dr. Philip's research paradigm is of great inspiration to the polar cultural heritage research being carried out by the Arctic Studies Centre.
