First Arctic Studies Forum
On the afternoon of May 27, 2018, ASC held the “First Arctic Studies Forum -- the International Shaman and Anthropology Research Conference of Extremely Cold Regions.” Experts and scholars from well-known universities and research institutions at home and abroad were gathered in our university, to discuss about research in polar social sciences and empower regional research in different countries. President Cai Xianjin attended the opening ceremony of the forum and delivered a speech. The opening ceremony was presided by Vice-Chancellor Wang Zhaofeng. Cai Xianjin presented the certificate of honorary professor to a number of professors, namely, Guo Shuyun, Director of the Shaman Education Research Center at Dalian Nationalities University, Tang Huisheng, Director of the Center for the Comparative Research of Ancient Civilizations at Hebei Normal University, Se Yin, from School of Ethnology and Sociology of Central University for Nationalities, and Ben Potter, Director of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
