Michael Knüppel attended 65th Annual Meeting of the Permanent International Altaistic Conference
From July 30 to August 4, 2023 the 65th Annual Meeting of the Permanent International Altaistic Conference (PIAC) took place in Astana, Kazakhstan. The PIAC is the most important international institution dedicated to the study of Altaic languages and cultures. The this year’s meeting was hosted by the School of Sciences and Humanities of Nazarbayev University and scholars from around one dozen countries and various fields of Altaic studies participated in the event to present the research results and to report on their ongoing work. Michael Knüppel from the Arctic Studies Center (ASC) of Liaocheng University (LCU) gave his presentation on “Dæmonologia Tuvinica – names and concepts of ‘intermediary beings’ in Tyvan language and culture”.
