Ninth Workshop of ASC held on April 26, 2024
On the afternoon of April 26, 2024, the ninth workshop of the Arctic Studies Research Center at Liaocheng University was successfully held in the conference room on the first floor of the center. Professor Yu Jianjun, a researcher at the Xinjiang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, gave a report entitled "Ten thousand years of cultural heritage forming a stream: prehistoric archaeological discoveries confirming early cultural exchange between Xinjiang and the Central Plains". Professor Hou Yamei, a researcher of the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, also discussed about the topic.
Professor Yu Jianjun demonstrated the cultural exchange relationship between Xinjiang and the Central Plains region, focusing on the development history of archaeology in Xinjiang and its archaeological discoveries. He also analyzed related concepts such as population, ethnicity, and race, emphasizing the fluidity of ancient ethnic structures and the openness of ethnic boundaries.
Professor Hou Yamei shared the concept of "Stone Road" proposed in recent years, which confirms the integration of early Eastern and Western cultures and describes the cultural charm and spiritual value contained in archaeological work.
